Bailey Continues to Develop Burberry.

After the news last month that Christopher Bailey, Burberry's creative director, is also taking on the role of chief executive after Angela Ahrendt's depature to Apple, we have all been eagerly anticipating what will come next. It seems completely impossible for one human to be able to take that much responsibilty and produce that much work for one company, especially for one as large as Burberry. However, Sir Harold Tillman, chairman of the British Fashion Council, says: "I don't think it is an 'oh dear, we need to find someone urgently' appointment, Bailey is Burberry's DNA - he lives and breathes the company."

Tillman, so far, seems to be correct with the news yesterdayof Bailey appointing long-time friend and colleague, Luc Goidadin, as Burberry's new chief design officer. Bailey said Goadidin is one of his "most experienced, trusted and talented colleagues who has worked alongside me for over twelve years," He continued to say "This will allow me to remain fully involved in setting the creative direction and vision for the brand." - While receiving "signifcantly fewer reports" than Angela Ahrendts.

Looking forwards to seeing the outcome in February.
