Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, here is a Christmas message from me to you: let us shed our fully monochrome uniforms that we all seem to be wearing, at least for Christmas, and become playful once again with fashion!
Perhaps we all seem to need a sense of unity by dressing in a conformative and rather uniform-like manner, or perhaps it started, as most trends do, with a few people wanting to be different amongst a sea of colour. But please, please can fashion be fun again? I have not been shocked by an outfit for so long and all it takes is a little imagination and inspiration from the likes of Meadham Kirchoff (see above their dress and skirt for Topshop). I understand not many of us (myself included) cannot afford Pucci's pastel shearling coat, Sophia Webster's polka dot heels or Charlotte Olympia's candy platforms.
